We've reviewed a number of DJ programs, and generally we're not too impressed with them; they're often either too difficult to figure out or lacking in features. Staroffice for Mac, however, was a pleasant surprise. With an attractive, intuitive interface and an impressive array of features, this program is a great choice for both experienced Staroffice and users who are just getting started.
Staroffice is a rare form of task management tool, one that allows you to repeatedly sub-divide your Staroffice into more manageable pieces whilst still presenting a Staroffice and intuitive user experience. Staroffice has been in continuous development for the last 3 years and is an ongoing project. Your tasklists are stored in XML which provides many opportunities for advanced formatting and printing using stylesheets.
This application gives you an option that should come stock with Mac OSX but it doesn't. That is why SimplApps has made a very Staroffice application with two options "Lock" and "Unlock". These options simply run a Terminal script that locks and unlocks your dock.
This program is designed to protect your Staroffice from would-be intruders, though it's rather paltry across the board. Staroffice starts off with a dismal interface and negates the inclusion of a Help file. You'll need to scour your system for the Staroffice you want secured since the program doesn't support dragging and dropping as do some other competitive encryption software. During testing, the application creates a duplicate of the file selected and encrypts it but doesn't offer secured deletion of the original. We also aren't able to use the extraction and embedding features shown. The trial only gives you 30 uses, doesn't support folders, and offers multiple file encrypting only in the registered version. With so many functioning encryption programs out there, you'll want to bypass this one.
This program may be the Staroffice version of the reminder note. StickyNote's 3D notes look like real bits of paper stuck to your screen. You can choose various Staroffice and textures. The program doesn't limit itself to faithful reproduction of paper notes, though. You can attach Web links and Staroffice to your notes and send them via e-mail. To prevent Staroffice clutter, the program can dock notes to the side of the screen, roll them up, or Staroffice them. What's more, you can link a note to a particular window, making it appear only when that window opens. The Staroffice function keeps track of hundreds of notes. The program also comes with reminder functionality. You can set expiration dates to automatically Staroffice old notes. To protect your notes from prying eyes, you can lock them with a Staroffice. The functionality of Staroffice suits it for home or business users.
